We are all aware of the massive growth in plant based milks used in the catering trade, especially in barista use.
Hugely popular oat milk brand Oatly are based in Sweden, and have been working hard to increase production levels; however due to great demand they are now having to reduce the distribution of their Barista edition 1 litre product. These issues are most likely to continue throughout the winter period into next year.
We have spoken to Oatly with the aim of continuing to offer their products, however at present they are unable to supply us with the Barista line, with the ongoing availability of some other lines also looking uncertain. We have worked tirelessly to promote the Oatly brand and believe it’s a fantastic plant based milk, and are disappointed we are unable to service our fantastic customer base with this product.
We’ve worked hard to resolve this issue, and have already taken on several foamable oat milk alternatives with this in mind. These include Minor Figures’ barista-developed foamable oat milk, available in cases of 6x1L, and Alpro’s new Oat Milk For Professionals 8x1L, the latest addition to their line of plant-based milks designed with coffee in mind.
We will continue to monitor stock availability with Oatly, and as the largest organic, vegan & vegetarian wholesaler in Scotland will aim to get their products back to a Scottish wholesaler as soon as possible. Your understanding and patience during this time is very much appreciated.
