This week's supplier spotlight blog takes a slightly different form, as we hear from Palestinian Fairtrade suppliers and Greencity favourites: Zaytoun. With Fairtrade Fortnight now underway, and representatives of Zaytoun shortly travelling to Glasgow to share with us stories and food in a supper event co-hosted by Greencity, what better time to gain some insight into this unique enterprise. Here we learn a little more about Zaytoun itself, and two of its key members, Taysir Arbasi and Khader Khader, as they this year celebrate 10 years of producing their Fairtrade olive oil.
If this piques your interest and you'd like to learn more, as well as enjoy a delicious all-vegan meal made using some of Zaytoun's ingredients, we'd love for you to join us at Glasgow's Civic House on Monday 4th March. Tickets are available through Eventbrite, and every ticket sold also pays for an olive tree to be planted in Palestine, to allow more farmers to expand or begin their production of Fairly-traded olive oil.
