The organic sweet potatoes used for Trafo sweet potato chips come from Spain. When entering our factory in Wolvega in the Netherlands the sweet potato is washed and cut. Then they are fried in organic sunflower oil from the Netherlands in a vacuum fryer. Baking in a vacuum fryer is only possible with sunflower oil. We have chosen this production process because it offers a number of important advantages over ordinary deep-frying. This baking process offers a number of important advantages. The sweet potato slices are baked at a low temperature of 120 degrees Celsius. This is much lower than baking in a regular deep fryer. As a result there is hardly any acrylamide. In addition fat absorption is much lower compared to traditional deep-frying. But the main reason is that the chips are crunchy and taste great. Trafo sweet potato chips can be used as a delicious snack but also with a salad for example.
