Cypressa Organic Halloumi is a semi-hard (springy) un ripened cheese made from a mixture of goats' ewes and cow's with a texture that is often described as squeaky. Halloumi appearance is a white creamy rectangular folded block with a mild milky aroma with a distinctive milky flavour that is slightly salty with a hint of mint. Halloumi has a high melting point and so ideal for frying or grilling making it ideal as a popular meat substitute. Can be grated eaten on its own or ideal with melon. Produced on the sun kissed island of Cyprus where it has been produced for many centuries and is a Protected Designation of Origin (PDO). Halloumi is often used in cooking and can be fried until brown without melting due to its high melting point making it an excellent cheese for frying or grilling such as saganaki or fried and served with vegetables or as an ingredient in salads. Halloumi is a very versatile cheese with many uses beyond simple grilling & frying. Ideal for BBQ season.
